Upgrading tyk-gateway to 2.0 with .deb destroys current configuration

I don’t know if this is intentional, but after upgrading with apt, my tyk.conf configuration it’s gone and replaced…

Tyk 2.0 introduces breaking changes, it’s right there in the first line of the upgrade doc:

https://tyk.io/docs/tyk-api-gateway-v-2-0/upgrading-to-tyk-v2-0/

But we’ll add a line to say that you should backup your tyk.conf. Since tyk doesn’t install across the filesystem (into folders like etc/), upgrades can be destructive if you don;t backup your configuration files.

The format of the 1.9 configuration would not work with 2.0 (it would work, but with errors and very odd behaviour), sorry you lost your config - we’ll make it clear in the upgrade doc.

Don’t worry, I always keep a backup nearby
