Inviting applications for the Tyk Side Project Fund

Hey everyone! :tyk:

We’re really excited to launch the Tyk side project fund. The Tyk side project fund is a micro-grant program to give out grants for cool side-projects from the community.

What is the goal of the Tyk side project fund?

If you’re working on a side project in your spare time which you would like to grow into a passion project, we can help give your side project a kickstart. We’ve launched a new micro-grant programme for anyone who has great ideas but may not have the resources to make them a reality.

Why are you doing this?

Tyk itself started life as a side project. Our Founder & CEO, Martin, needed an enterprise-grade, open-source API Gateway, but couldn’t find what he was looking for. So he went ahead and built his own - what started as a small side project soon made a big difference. The Tyk Open Source API Gateway has now been installed by 10,000’s of businesses, engineers, hackers & tech tinkers alike.

We believe in the power of connectivity and to connect every system in the word. Which is why we want to support side projects that seek to make a positive impact on the world through connection, openness and transparency.

How much is the grant?

Our micro-grants are up to £500 per project with no-strings-attached. It’s free for anyone to apply.

When is the deadline?

The application window is open until March 31st, 11 PM GMT.

How can I apply?

All you need to do is fill out a short application here: tyk.io/fund
