I’m considering using the software for the management of api and in particular for my bot as a service.
I still have to do a good lap. But some advice on how rapidly integrate with billing systems?

Hi Roger,
Tyk doesn’t have built in billing systems but it does have plenty of webhook events and monitors that can be used to enable billing.
The portal also has a “hand off” feature where when a key is requested, it will not be approved immediately, instead the request is redirected to a third party system with the ID of the key request as a parameter.
The third party system can then do the actual billing piece, and once confirmed, use the REST API to approve the key request.
The approval will also give you a copy of their key, so you can revoke it if payment fails at some point.
If you enable the email integration then the user will be emailed their key.
You can alternatively use the active monitors feature in the key metadata itself to set thresholds that fire webhooks when a percentage of a quota is reached. You could plug that into a service that keeps a running tally and updates the user quota every time , then you have a running tally for usage and can charge for usage instead of as a subscription.
Lots of integration options, but the actual billing service will need to be built separately, it’s not supported out of the box (though we’re considering it).
