Key Request in Portal Management results in Failure generating token

When a new developer registers at Portal Management and makes an request for an API Key, he gets an error message: Failure generating token

In Portal Management, there is also no possibility to approve request manually: Failure generating token, please contact your administrator

Hi!

Since the redis instance is needed when issuing developer keys, this may be a problem with the gateway/redis connection. Are there any log entries to suggest this? And could you please try restarting both.
We are also checking to see if we can find anything on our end.

Thanks,
Luan

Sorry, I missed that you’re using Tyk Cloud! In that case our engineering team is looking into the cause on our end and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.

Thanks,
Luan

Hello!

Can you pls try again?

Frankly, I can’t replicate such issue yet.

Can you ensure that user you are logged in have “Portal” and “Key” permissions?

Error is still occuring.

My settings are:
x) Protect API Catalogue – Yes
x) Require key approval – Yes
x) Redirect key requests – No

I made this steps, assuming that this is a new user:
a) Calling Portal Management URL
b) Creating new user
c) review API catalogue
d) Requesting an API Key
e) Get message that “your key has been requested”

Assuming now that I am now myself as administrator.

  1. click in Tyk Dashboard at “Portal Managemten”
  2. click at “key requests” --> “Edit”
  3. click at “Approve” will show above error message.

Is this occurring for all new developers, or only for one case?

Thanks,
Luan

I’ve used three or four private mail addresses to create developers and it is occurring for all of them.

could you please provide your API definition?

pls. see private message.
